You're not suppose to buy your own stone, doofus. Who are you marrying??? Yourself???

Going into debt just to have a fancy ring and elaborate wedding is not the best way to start a marriage. You may want to start off small and save the money for more important things...down payment on a house, investments for a better future, etc.

The wedding is over after that one day, and the ring could get lost or stolen. It seems silly to put so much money into this if it could be used in a better way elsewhere.

What I would suggest: Both of you go and pick out a ring that you really like, but that you can also afford. As others have already said before me, its not the stone but the love it represents that is important.

Of course it is! It doesn't matter as long as it looks gorgeous and you love it and your wedding. No one even has to know, either! Hope you have a great wedding and a beautiful cubic zirconia ring.

If all you can afford is a cigar band that good enough. It's not about the ring, that's just for show. It's about the love and commitment.

Of course! Whenever you do save up enough money you can always buy yourself something nicer later..
and anyways.. unless someone is right next to you staring at it and holding it, you cant tell from a distance that it is not a real diamond.

Why not? You aren't marrying for the stone in your ring, you're getting married because you love your fiance- right?. Love is what matters.

Of course it is. When it comes to the rings, it is not what it is worth in money but what it is worth to you. It is the meaning behind it, not the cost. I am sure that it will be beautiful. GOOD LUCK and CONGRATS!!!!

If that is absolutely all you can afford and it comes from the heart and is given in the name of true love, then yes, its perfectly acceptable.

Should be. Who cares how much the rock cost, it's the love behind it that counts.
