The founder of Depeche Mode, Vincent Clark, left the band right after the first album came out to form the group Yazoo (Yaz) with female singer Alison Moyet. Their first album 'Upstairs At Eric's' is a must-have for any music fan and is considered a classic as it still sells over a million copies a year. They only had one other album (State Farm) before Vincent and Alison went their seperate ways and Vincent hooked up with male singer Andy Bell. Together, those 2 formed the hit dance-pop group Erasure! Ironically, Alison Moyet AND Andy Bell (even though one is female/one is male) both have identical singing voices! Now, if Vincent would just do something with BOTH of them, even if it's just one song, that would be great! I hope this info adds to what you were looking for. Great question! :-)

Founded in the early eighties, one of the first (apart from Kraftwerk,Divo) bands to use synthesizers. Vince clark decided to quit the band and form Yazoo with alison moyet. The others carried on and used industrial sounds like hammers hitting metal ect.. to form a new sound in pop music. Created great tracks like people are people, Try walking in my shoes,Route 66 .... the list is endless !
