Only the bad answers get thumbs down, I've seen plenty with lots of thumbs up!

For often answering questions about translation from English to French or French to English, I often put thumbs down because most of the time, the translations given come from online translator and don't mean anything.
So how can someone learn a language if people keep posting translations full of mistakes. It won't help.
Otherwise if the person is a racist or doesn't respect others then I'll also do it. This is a free space but you can't make fun of others.

People think the item is offensive or violating a TOS rule. I rate a thumbs down if I think it is a spammer. I'm tired of the cashcrate ads being posted on here instead of real questions or answers.

Some people just love to hate everyone's answers, some people give terrible answers, some people simply disagree, and some people are bigots. Some people don't care - they are just gaming for points! Whatever the reason - take your pick.

I know the answer to that one. Because 8 times out of 10 people are not answering the QUESTION!! They use the question as a chance to get on their soapbox.

Partly because there are so many stupid, pointless, and/or non-helpful questions and answers.
And because people will do it just because they don't like the answer or they don't like the person who answers, no matter how correct it may be.

There is either something that they diagre with strongly in the answer. or the answer was just mismash for the points.
