NO IT IS NOT TRUE....

There are two ways of really learning something, and not everyone learns the same way (see third entry).

1. Book method - a person who can learn to do something merely by reading about it is called the book method, which has no hands on experience.

2. Hand method - a person who can learn to do something by watching someone else do it, and repeating what they do. This is a practical method for some people, who have trouble understanding written instructions.

3. Trouble method - a person who can learn to do something THE HARD WAY - with no help of any kind. This type of learning is not only difficult, it's unpractical, and usually leads to the person learning nothing at all, and becoming very frustrated...

Not necessarily. I've seen people watch or study something without having any sort of hands-on learning, but still be able to do that task or problem with no problem.

I wish I was like that

In many cases I'm pretty sure that's true. It's been true for me personally.

I learn by watching other people do it... then repeat what they did, and make it better. I'm way cool like that.

To learn is to do??? No, there's so much more than that.
"To do" is not a right term in this case.

It's not true.
