Moderate Arabs can show Israel they are sincere in their desire to live peacefully side by side with Israel by publicly condemning and putting a stop to the terrorist Arabs. Since nothing remotely close to that has ever happened, and as a whole most Arabs can barely get along with each other in the middle east, the chances of a trusting relationship with Israel are slim. It's really ashame because here in New York we have Arabs and Jews as good friends. I'm Jewish and have had many Arab friends. We always have had respect for each others beliefs, but most importantly never discuss the middle east so as not to offend the other. Thinking of others before yourself is a great way to live in peace.

The key to a tolerant, moderate society is exemplified in some ways by the current European Union.
The key is a prosperous, well educated, and dominant middle class.
Investments in education and industry, that allow the average person to have good food, good housing, a feeling of safety... these things make people happier, reduce tension and promote a society in which the status quo is preferred.
In such an environment extremism is viewed with intolerance. And in such an environment an Arab/Israeli peace might occur, as would a democratic Palestine.
If, instead of invading Iraq (Afghanistan needed to be invaded... different issue), America had been spending the $8 billion a month on building up educational and industrial elements in the Arab world we would be making progress towards solving your question.
Unfortunately I don't know if this is possible anymore.

It's a nice thought and an interesting question, but I'm afraid there will not be a peace between the Jews and Arabs until two things happen:
1 - both parties have to stop living in the past. Both sides open old wounds and refuse to take a look at their current situation they put each other it. Arabs still talk about the Crusades from 1000 years ago like it happened yesterday, and the Jews never got out of the 1930s.
2 - both sides have to stop thinking of their existence in emotional terms. Both claim God is on their side and God wants them to have the land. Both sides act like children in a screaming contest even during the simplest of meetings.
There has been too much bad blood over the generations so that no side holds the moral high ground. When Jews and Arabs stop acting like children is when positive change will take place.

If there are moderate Arabs out there, we sure don't know who they are. The theoretical moderate Arabs would be an insignificant portion of the Arab population.
The overwhelming majority support and elected the Hamas terror cult to lead them. They believe in holy war to eliminate the Jews from the Land of Israel.

Hamas leads the Pali's and with them there will be no peace. It's a lost cause. Arabs will have no peace with Israel. All they want is it's destruction which in turn is a suicide mission.

They cannot! Because they will be killed.
Death is an effective weapon used by fanatics.
We (peace lovers) can use death too, to solve the problem, very effectively I might add, but we have to overcome our distaste for it.
Once that happens, then and only then, will peace BREAK OUT.

1st you have to actually FIND some moderate Arabs. There have been more sightings of Elvis than there have been of moderate Arabs. You have a better chance of finding Sasquatch.

Cut back funding to Israel. If they have to play on a level field they'll mind their manners.
