I asked this question a couple months ago, but nothing has really changed. I started taking birth control to manipulate my period, so that I'm not on it for my wedding and honeymoon. But I'm still bleeding a lot. It's so frustrating, because there's no rhyme or reason when it happens. Sometimes it'll be like a normal period for a few days, and then other days it'll be light. But we're talking like 20 days out of a month (not all in a row). Part of me wants to just get off it, and deal with having my period then. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm on orthotricyclen. I'm so frustrated, I just want to cry sometimes....

I had the same problem on birth control. My doctor told me that it was because the birth control pills were not strong enough for me and I needed a higher level pill.

And as to the answer before me.... not every one uses birth control pills because of sex. Some use them for severe PMS, tyvm.

U have to weigh whether it's worth going thru all this frustration for the reason u stated. I can see why u feel it's so important to b available to ur husband on ur wedding night. But really, if the worse happens it wont b the end of the world. It's happened to countless of couples n they can still go on and hv a great time on their honeymoon. U might luck out n not even hv ur period then!

Call an OB-Gyne.

Sounds like you have some "breakthrough bleeding" from the pill. A different birth controll pill may help. An OB-Gyne would have the best idea which one would be best. If you never had this problem before the pill then that is probably what it is. If you have irregular periods before, then it could be caused by other problems also best handled by an OB-Gyne.

girl i feel your pain. my body is doing the same thing. at first the dr. had me taking four BC's a day. now i am down to 2 a day. my period still goes. so i went back to him right, told him the situation. it comes to find out after he referred me to a specialist that my female parts were not functioning properly. it get complicated beyond that point. but anyhow, they want me to have a hysterectomy in order to stop the bleeding. i am scheduled for march. but go back to your dr. and tell him the deal and if all else fails seek another doctor. u will get the problem resolved.

Birht control affects different women in different ways. The same thing happened to me when I started on Yasmin, so i switched to Depo Provera, and it's working better for me.
If it's been several months and there has been no change, I'd suggest consulting your doctor to be switched to something different that would work better for you.

I started on bc about 5 months ago, and I know EXACTLY how u feel. It does suck, but it gets better every month. This is normal. If you think something is abnormally wrong, it would be a good idea to talk to the doctor who prescribed this to you about it.

sounds to me like you need a stronger pill. Thats what I did when the lining of the uterus was too thin. It was break through bleeding...I had to go on stronger pills to thicken it so I wouldn't hemmorage. Your doctor needs to be watching you closer. I believe its a low dose you are on.

That doesn't sound normal; you should talk to your gyno. Maybe you need a different type of pill.

Here is some food for thought.

Birth Control pills are not NATURAL

THEY ^%^& UP YOUR BODY!

YOUR BODY DOES NOT WANT THEM THERE!!

why do you think it says may cause HEART ATTACK??

I would NEVER take anything that had DEATH as
a side effect.

No matter how RARE or UNLIKELY It was.
