No. it's not a civil right as the other person answered. I am so tired of everybody screaming about their civil rights when they have no idea what they are...now that I'm off my soapbox, the police should call an ambulance for somebody who has an injury which requires emergency medical attention. People can, and often do, refuse medical treatment. Unless their unconscious it's the injured person's decision to get help.

Absolutely. Just for the record it's everybody's duty to try to get medical attention for an injured person. It's also the law.

It really depends on the city or state. Im sure there are some cities that dont accualy put it in the rule book that they are soposed to assist injured people. Kinda like people not helping hurt people because they are afraid to be sued.

Yes....and they can be charged with nonfeasance if he fails to, or refuses to, perform an act (without sufficient excuse) that is either an official duty or a legal requirement.

They usually do but I seriously doubt it is part of their duty.
It is a service to the community - our officers have even started to change tires for stranded women.

yes, he can call to have an ambulance come. I am not sure if the officer will have the skills necessary to help, but they do have the resources.
