eukaryote.

There are two types of single cells on earth today; prokaryotes, which include bacteria (cyanophytes) and archaea and the eukaryotes, which include the fungi, animals, algae, protozoa and the larger plants. The bacteria are prokaryotes which do not have a membrane surrounded nucleus; their DNA is not surrounded by a membrane but left loose and irregular and does not have Histones (proteins) associated with the DNA. There are no membrane bound organelles and their cell wall is made up from peptidoglycan which is a complex polysaccharide. Bacteria divide by splitting into two parts, each daughter cell identical to the other, this is called binary fission. Bacteria are also of a much smaller size than eukaryotic cells. Prokaryotic cells ruled the earth for something like 3 billion years until they gave rise to the much larger and more complex cells of the eukaryota.

The cheek cell is a eukaryote, this is because a eukaryotic cell is a cell which contains a nucleus. Prokaryotes do not contain a cell nucleus and are typical of bacteria, the DNA instead lies within the cytoplasm of the cell. The fact that cheek cells are eukaryotic enables police and forensic scientists to take swabs of a criminal's cheek to construct a DNA profile.

I would think that a cheek cell would be eukaryotic because it is derived from an animal/eukaryote. All I know is that cheek cells are made of Epithelial Cells. If you are looking at cheek cells under a microscope look for cell walls. If it is eukaryotic then there should be a cell wall present. If it is prokaryotic then there will not be a cell wall. Hope this helps.

Well we humans are in the animal kingdom and i'll list some things about it.

Eukaryote :An organism with cells that contain nuclei(nucleus) and other cell structures.

Prokaryote : An organism whose cells lack a nucleus and some other cell structures.

All organisms from the animal kingdom have a nucleus and are all multi-cellular. (We humans are animals)

So thus, a cheek cell would be a human's cell, which would be an animal cell. Also all organisms from the Plant Kingdom have nuclei. But in the Bacterial/Protists/Fungi Kingdom there are organisms that have a nucleus but not all.

A eukaryote is an organism with a complex cell or cells, in which the genetic material is organized into a membrane-bound nucleus or nuclei. Eukaryotes comprise animals, plants, and fungi—which are mostly multicellular....In contrast, prokaryotes are organisms, such as bacteria and archaea, that lack nuclei and other complex cell structures. so the cheek cell is prokaryote...

All human cells are eukaryotes, since humans are multicellular eukaryotes. Prokaryotes only include single celled bacteria.

All eukaryotic cells have organelles, such as a nucleus, mitochondria, etc.

Prokaryotes, (i.e. bacterial cells) have no organelles and are much smaller (about the size of a mitochondria)

It's a eukaryote because it's an animal cell. Animal cells are eukaryotes.

eukaryote
because prokaryotes can not be animal cells

To make it simple, all animal cells are euakaryotes. Thatz because they have nucleus. Prokaryote don't.
