news flash - we destroyed a soverign country for absolutly no reason. (remember Osama is in Afganistan and there were no wmd's)
we have created a civial war and caused tens of thousands of deaths.
these people were not terrorists when we showed up. they are becoming terrorists now just to get their country back.
for someone who is talking like a conservative, please tell me who is going to pay for this war?
Also please tell me the conditions that will lead to what you will define as victory?
keep in mind that when these folks in Iraq think of democracy they will be thinking about a bunch of guys with bombs and rifles - the US Miltary.

Bush and Rumsfield are the ones who have coddled the Terrorists! Remember Osama bin Laden. Bush said that he'd get him "dead or alive." Bush said getting bin Laden was priority #1. When he found out that his simplistic views wouldn't get the job done, he decided to go after a soft, easy target with a known address--Saddam Hussein in Iraq.
Now, every terrorist expert in the CIA, the State Department, the Pentagon, and the troops on the ground say the same thing: Bush's adventure in Iraq has created a haven for terrorists. According to the CIA there are more terrorists in Iraq than ever before.
This administration has been an utter and complete failure in every endeavor it has tried. Social security reform? Failed. Immigration Reform? Failed. Capture of bin Laden? Failed. Mustering world support and gathering allies to carry out a joint world-wide campaign against terrorism? Utterly Failed. Tax giveaways to Big Oil, the super wealthy? Success! Bankrupting the USA with trillions of dollars of debt that is weakening the dollar, ruining the economy, and robbing the future? Success!
Think about it. When Bush came to office the US had a budget SURPLUS. That is, the fiscal restraint of the two Clinton administrations kept inflation at bay, made the economy stronger than at any time since WW2 by NOT spending more than they took in. In a mere three years of Bush's first term, the budget surplus was wiped out and Bush and the Republicans have been borrowing money like drunks with someone else's credit card. The guy's a kleptomaniac! His adminstration has effectively stolen the wealth of this nation and handed it to his rich buddies and his Saudi Arabian backers.
The American people will be paying for Bush's excesses for decades to come! Bush's economic motto is: BORROW AND SPEND! HEY, IT'S OK, IT AIN'T MY MONEY!
Wake up and pray Bush doesn't have any other number one priorities!
He is the worst, most ineffectual President since Warren G. Harding. Can you name ONE significant accomplishment of this President and Republican Congress that has improved the lives of average Americans and will be praised for decades to come?

I don't think he is being open minded. He is only changing catch phrases. That's not liberalism, that's something to make conservatives continue to follow the leader.
Tough on illegals his original ideals? I don't know where you have been, but as governor of TX his maid was illegal and his current stance of offering amnesty has always been his stance. Iraq and illegal immigration are both failed Bush policies.

Bush is an idiot who has lost Afghanistan, lost Iraq, and is losing the war on terror. As has been the case his entire life, daddy has had to send Jim Baker to clean up the mess his worthless loser son created – again. Why do you wish to see continued loss, defeat, harm, and humiliation befall America because of George Bush? Why do you hate America so much that you beg to stay on his course to death and destruction for our nation and our people?
