No, breaking the sound barrier has nothing to do with your weight. The speed of sound is just the speed of sound waves moving through air. Going close to the speed of light will make you more massive however, but when you slow down you will regain your original mass (if you did not disintegrate from going faster than the speed of light).

No. Even though greater speed increases weight according to relativity, this is so insignificant as to be almost unmeasurable. It does not make one obese, as obesity is relative fat percentage, and it doesn't add any fat or any matter. The sound barrier is just a number. Physics does not change past this speed. The boom is just a result of going faster than the sound disturbing the air in front of the vehicle, nothing more.

The answer is yes!! If you remember Einstein's theories on relativity, you will recall that mass increases as speed increases. Therefore, with each extra unit of energy added to maintain a constant speed or to accelerate increases the weight of an object.

Also, you will recall that as speed increases, time slows down. This has already been proven when scientists put a cesium atomic clock on a plane and flew it around the world. When it arrived back at its starting point, the clock had slowed down (lost time).

Similarly, an objects weight will decrease as it is elevated. You weigh less at the top of a mountain than you do at sea level.

Note: these changes in mass are based upon speed and motion not because of the sound barrier, etc.

Caveat: these changes are on such minute scale that they are unnoticeable to our senses.

Q: Does going through the sonic boom make you obese?

A: yes its a scientific fact it will i mean just look at good ol' bob down the street he was skinny, then one day he got on a plane 10 years later BAM he got fat i mean what a coinkidink!
