Modern liberalism. When will these idiot law makers realize that criminals do not give a darn about laws! The only people hurt by all of this big brother stuff and gun control are honest citizens. I can't have a gun in Chicago. Did the outlawing of handguns reduce the handgun murder rate? Hell no! Why? Because gang members do not give a sht about laws. The only reason they care about this law is because it means their victim will not be armed. Wake up!

Some crimes are up, some crimes are down. Crimes that are down are crimes such as mugging, house breaking - crimes which are helped by CCTV.
There has been an influx of new people into London every year so it is no wonder that the statistics keep going up 1 crime in 10 people is bad but 2 crimes in 100 people is not so bad if you get my meaning.
Statistics are always being manipulated to prove whatever your particular cause is. Personally living in London has never felt safer - we have community wardens everywhere, loads of police working in the community, new community centres being built, new free computer training schemes, more lighting, more frequent night buses, more licensed black cabs and minicabs at night.....

big brother does not want crime to decrease . crime and disorder is good for business for the people behind CCTV and other kinds of surveillance . if all crime stopped tomorrow then the government would have to give us back some of the powers we gave them to protect us. and can you see them doing that . so its in there best interest to keep crime levels up. if you go out and get drunk abuse and attack people on the streets when you go to court they give you a 50 pound fine but if you don't have a TV licence or don't pay your council tax you go to prison so you work that out your self.real criminals get away with it because they need them in society to keep the crime and kaos going.

Criminals work around them. For example, by wearing a hood up, commiting one crime and escaping quickly, CCTV is no problem.
Also, installing CCTV in an area, just pushes crime to a new area that's not on camera.
