Yes, definitely. In my opinion, T-Mobile offers the best per-minute rates for light users. The $100 refill gets you 1000 minutes ($0.10/min), which last for one year and also gives you Gold Rewards status. Aside from the extra minutes from Gold Rewards, subsequent refills will extend your account expiration to one year from the refill date regardless of the dollar amount of the refill. If you wanted to keep the phone for emergency/minimal use, you could maintain the account for as little as $10/year after the first year (assuming you bought the $100 refill initially).

Coverage in the major metro areas is good as well (although almost certainly not as good as Verizon).

I can't think of anything bad about TMO prepaid other than the somewhat small selection of phones that they offer. You can get around this by buying an unlocked phone elsewhere or unlocking a phone purchased from another provider. International rates are quite high, but I think the same could be said for any other prepaid provider.

I have used T-Mobile pay as you go phone for over A year now I love it (no going over Min's is great) and not one dropped call yet.
