I think it is right. And he is not down. He was the captain of India for many years. He had to handle tremendous pressure. And He is a very good batsman. So of course it was a good idea.

There has been hue and cry in the media as well as among Indian Public about omission of Ganguly from Indian Team and
even people have been telling that if Ganguly was in the Indian Team, India would have performed far better.

Though if one consider the form of Ganguly in the recent past he does not deserve a place in the Indian Team, I strongly feel that the Selectors have played a mind game in selecting Ganguly in order to stop such criticism. If Ganguly fares well in South Africa, selectors can claim praise for their decision. However, if he fails, they can discard him for ever without giving any room for further controversy in the matter.

i bet the south african bowlers are licking their lips at the sight of seeing ganguly play in the tests.....i bet they will be having a bet on who can get ganguly 1st!!! they will pepper ganguly with short stuff....and that 83 he got against rest of SA was pretty lucky....cause of their bowling attack.....try facing ntini...nel..pollock...and dale steyn who bowls at 150kph+ consistently!!!! i would be EXTREMELY surprised to see ganguly even get past 30 in any innings in this coming test series!!!! ganguly didnt come into the team cause of batting form....he came in cause of political and public pressure as the indian team was struggling.....from past matches ive seen ganguly play...he is the worst player to play the bouncer.....as an outsider watching the indian team...i hope the south african bowlers pound ganguly with bouncers to shut the ganguly story forever!!!!
