Santa is real. The reason he doesn't show up at some people's house on Christmas Eve is because he probably uses his magic to see if there are any believers there.

I personally think he has a huge cult of followers and impersonators. He must be having rough times though because he usually begs for money somewhere. He must do pretty well from it because I don't see him around the rest of the year. Does that make him a Bad Santa? Maybe he's on the work release program or SSI.

No, Santa Clause may exist but not as featured as defined by the story tellers. He may only be an ordinary man delivering gifts to children.
