I'm a guy, but for years deep down I've felt like a girl and want to be a girl. I wear girls underwear, and undershirts and like to straighten my hair and paint my nails and put lip gloss on and all that kind of stuff. So I want to take the next step and start taking female hormones. I just don't know where to get them or if you need to have a prescription and how do you get one if you do and how much it costs. Thank you.

You have to see a doctor. Estrogen is by prescription only. besides, you'll want your physician to monitor the amounts. Don't worry about talking to a doctor about your feelings. They're doctors, they've heard everything.

Why don't you go talk to a doctor - not your family doctor as that will be weird, but some other kind, say at the hospital. Ask for a specialist in gender re-alignment.

DO NOT BUY THEM OFF THE INTERNET

Most times these are cheap rip offs, and not the real deal. Good luck, and remember, do it right the first time. If you do not have the money then wait till you do. The last thing you want is to be found in some alley dying because you were poisoned by some bad hormones.

You can probably just get them at a drug store, or one of those stores that sells 8,000,000 different types of vitamins, suppliments, and such.

If you do need a prescription, don't be embarassed by the doctor. He spends his day looking at peoples' nasty injuries, checking for hemmorhoids, and trying not to catch whatever the other patients come into his office with. A guy who wants to be a girl is the least of a doctor's worries.
