Will a Xbox from the UK work here (United States)? I bought one without thinking that it actually mattered. It's suppose to be for my son for Christmas. A friend of mine told me that if it's from the UK it won't work in the US. With Christmas coming soon & it being shipped soon I need to know if I can make this work. Please help!

It's not an Xbox 360, just an Xbox.

You can't play US games (NTSC) on a UK 360 (PAL).

Basically NTSC 360 can only play NTSC games, and PAL 360 can only play PAL games.

Here is the most accurate answer you can get. You will be recieveing an XBox from the UK. It will need an adapter for an power outlet. The UK will use a 3 prong It will look somthing like this:
_I_

Now here is the Part that sucks, The games have different codecs or coding. So they have to have a "Chip" put in them, to be able to play American games. Now you Can order the chip mods. and do it yourself, but becarefull. I would advise getting your money back or find out where they install the chips. When I was In Iraq, we was able to purchase XBox's already with this type of "Chip Mod", already emplaced. If you got it from Ebay, I dont know if you won it yet, if you did not, use the retract a bid form and you will be ok. I hope this helped, choi.

First answer may be correct, I not sure.
Also, I think UK use 220-230 Volts and we use 110-120, so, yours may need a different AC adapter.

It should work, but it might need an outlet adapater, since the UK uses a different voltage.

Not only would you need a different adapter or a voltage converter, but you'd need a video system converter to convert from PAL to NTSC.
