Obviously, any of the mainstays are great songs, but if you want to go slightly off-road, try CSN - "Wasted on the Way"; Manfried Mann's Earth Band - "Blinded the Light"; Head East "Never Been Any Reason", Matt the Hoople - "All the Young Dudes".
There hundreds of great classic rock songs out there that get very little airtime.
