Many of you have said you don't believe it is right to just give the answers. It is often better to give the kid a resource where he can find the answer...then have that resource to use in the future. Some complicated questions need some explanation , but, please, if it is a one word answer, let's encourage them to learn where to find answers

I try to give the procedure and or the resources. I do notice some kids posting a bunch of questions that are phrased slightly differently and having lot of trouble answering it. They seriously need to study more. In one case, i gave the procedure, I then noticed the poster started a new question with "Please give me the solution" in the title. It really discourages me to help them. They rather sit in front of the computer, wait and expect other people to do their homework instead of spending some quiet time away from the computer and study properly. I'm kinda speechless when i read some of the questions when they can easily find the solution by looking at the back of their textbook or a simple search. Another skill I notice some kids are really lacking is how to researching the materials. Well, maybe it's not lacking, but they are just too lazy to do the work. I wonder how they will survive university.

People just want to help I guess. Of course it has another side to it and that is to encourage laziness. Some would ask to get an easy answer so they would not need to do their home work. You are right as far as one word answer is concerned.

I don't know why people keep giving out answers to homework questions, and I don't know why the questioners don't use Google to find the answers. In many cases it would be faster.

I try to explain the solution or give a reference - hopefully with something for the questioner to still solve.
