Well if the orangutan hit me i would remain calm and try and make the determination if it was out of aggression with the intent of hurting on purpose, if it was an accident i would do something stupid like fart in his face or something but if it was out of rage for me i would beat him down with every ounce of strength i had and then some just to show who is the alpha male, odds are i might lose because orangutans are some what stronger than humans but i would put up one hell of a fight.

No. These are usually very gentle, quite creatures, so if one slapped me they would most likely be playing. If not, I probably would have had to do something to deserve it).
As they are from Asia, and spend most their lives in trees, me interacting with one would probably mean it was in captivity, and perhaps it is the stress of being removed from their natural environment and family that got her/him upset. Acting aggressively against him/her for showing their fear/frustration would be cruel.
Also, Orangutans have the cognitive age of a young child, and I don’t make it a habit to slap children.
Interesting Note: Orangutans have 97% of the same DNA as humans.

No. They can weigh up to 180 pounds and though they are usually passive, they can and will engage in combat, especially with other orangutans. If one hit me it would probable be serious and I might be in serious trouble.
