I am studying social network usage... when / why people use others to solve problems. What makes you want to use others vs. work alone?

Depends on the problem at hand. Sometimes it is good to get help from others because they will sometimes give you things to think about that you have not thought of yourself, or you can bounce your ideas off of them and get help. You cant go wrong when you pursue all angles. It gives you more than enough information to make a decision you are okay with.

I have to solve problems by myself. I cannot work with others when I am really deep in trying to solve a problem.
In other collaboration scenarios, I can handle interaction but not when solving problems. It's just the way I am.

relies upon on the situation, from time to time being by myself in some thing isn't the ideal element for you. yet extra often than not i prefer to determine it out by myself, feels plenty extra beneficial when I clean up my own subject concerns =]
