Who were some people who faced adversity but still became important leaders of our time? Learning disabilities? Or any other. They persevered.

Franklin Roosevelt had Polio, but never let anyone see his "weakness". Not too people during his years in office knew that he was sick. He was always had people standing on either side of him while walking short distances or standing somewhere that wasn't behind a podium. And I believe that if he was standing behind a podium they had special brace to help him support himself.

Woodrow Wilson had a stroke while serving his last term as President

Alexander the Great - He had epilepsy and conquered most of the known world.
