My wife and I are expecting and we like a name, but have a question. Is Kensley a boy or girl's name. What do you think of it? Thanks.

Sounds like a rich boys name to me.

Kensley sounds like a name that could be used for either a boy or a girl. I think that it is a wonderful name, but the most important thing is that you and your wife choose a name you like.

Kensley, sounds like Ansley, which is definitely a girls name, so I would have to say girl. Most names that end in an --ley ten to be girls names (or at least more common for girls to me). Riley, Kiley, Sibley, Ashley, Leslie, to name a few... Some can go either way, but if you notice, most names that were used for both have ended up coming over to the female side (Leslie, Casie, Jamie, etc) and it would suck to name a boy something that, by the time he's 50, is clearly a female name...

Good luck with your decision.

I think Kensley is a beautiful name for a boy of a girl!!!! It is quite androgynous. It is hard to name a child before they are born. especially if you don't know the sex. I would pick a list of three favourites for girls and three for boys, and when you and your thoroughly exhausted wife, meet your beautiful bundle of joy, you can decide which suits him/her best. best wishes to you and your wife.

sounds like it could be both, but personally more for a boy - but the problem wth names that could go both ways is that your child might have a hard time with it growing up. You should also think of all the possible nicknames that might be derived from the name and see if you still like it then.

I think Kensley is a girl's name, but I think it would be better spelled "Kinsley."
