J.K. Rowling has said that she "plans" to finish in time for a release on Harry's birthday, which I think is 7/28/07 (or close to that), but no guarantees! A couple of the earlier books were significantly delayed from what she had originally anticipated.

We're hoping so very hard that it's July 7 (which would be 7/7/07) but it doesn't look like that's going to happen

I think the "expected" release date is 07.07.07, but that might just be a marking strategy.
