Did the Joint chiefs of staff accept President Kennedy as Commander in Chief? Why or Why not?

Yes, he appointed them to their post. As commander in Chief he picked who would be what in this area. Also they like the fact that he was a very decorated war hero of WW2.

I'm fairly certain that, constitutionaly speaking, they had to accept him as commander-in-chief.
