Let's say there are 1 billion stars in our galaxy. Let's say only 1% of those are not too close to another star for a habitable planet to form. And let's say that only 1% of these stars actually do have planets. And let's say that only 1% percent of these have planets the size of earth. And let's say that only 1% of these are earth-like. How many earth-like planets would there be? 10 earth-like planets. That's just for 1 galaxy. There are billions of galaxies. So I think there are good odds that somewhere out there in some galaxy there is some planet that is Earth-like.

Between the infinite size of the universe and the randomness introduced by quantum theory, pretty much anything is possible. The question is how likely is it, and again, because the universe is infinite, I think the odds are pretty good that there are planets similar to Earth out there.

Yes, i believe intelligent life is possibly out there. Could be more civilized but not something that we see in fiction. Our galaxy is so vast. Even today scientists are not confirmed about its size. In Early 2008, researchers said Milky Way has 50% more mass and is traveling 120000km per hour faster than previously thought. So we cannot rule out the presence of other life when we cannot even get idea of its size. SETI (Search for extraterrestrial intelligence) is organization searching the skies 24/7, all year for the transmitted or leaked signals by any alien civilization in any other solar system with the help of radio telescopes. And they even transmit signals in hope to contact any alien civilization. Dr. Frank Drake, proposed rough estimate of number of extra terrestrial life in our galaxy with a formula/equation called 'The Drake Equation'. He guess the number to be 10,000. (detectable alien civilizations in our galaxy alone).

Yes, it is very possible. Think about it, there is so much of the undiscovered and unknown out in space it would be a shame if there were no other life forms out there. There is allways something else to everything, so I dont see why there wouldnt be others out there somewhere on there own nice and green planet.

I think it's impossible for it not to be one.

There are 9 planets (well 8 now - I still count Pluto) orbiting our sun.

Imagine that our sun is a grain of sand, now imagine the largest beach you can think of. Every grain of sand represents a sun in our galaxy.
Now imagine that every grain of sand now represents a galaxy, your beach won't be big enough to contain all the galaxies in the universe.

If every sun had only one planet it would still be more than you could count. The chances are that there are many earth like planets out there.

Possible? Of course. Given the size of the universe, anything is possible.

Not only possible, but almost a certainty, given the "billions and billions" (credit:Carl Sagan) of planets and solar systems in our universe.

Whether or not life has sprung forth on one of them is another subject altogether.

it is very possible that the whole universe has many billions of these kind of planets.

It depends on what you belive, If you think we evolved from apes then odds are yes. If you belive in god then most deffenatly what ever god made. I could see him populating the universe with enough planets for each one of his children to have his own.
