When conviction dawns upon, then the consciousness of the body ceases, and the senses think no more of their objects.

The seekers, who give up the sense-objects through self-restraint and restrain their senses but not the sense of taste, become entangled in the sense-objects in thousand ways.' If you pluck the leaves from the tree externally and water its roots, how will you destroy it?' Even as the tree spreads sideways by that watering, so also sense-enjoyment is nourished through the sense of taste. The objects of the other senses many cease, but it is difficult to restrain the sense of taste, as without it human life cannot be sustained. A person can, however, restrain the sense of taste also, if he attains the experience of Brahman. When conviction dawns upon him that he is Brahman himself, then the consciousness of the body ceases, and the senses think no more of their objects.-

In Yoga philosophy this has been explained.

Remember there are eight steps to climb the ladder of progress in Yoga. Yoga should never be practised without supervision of a competent master. If one goes along yoga path without guidance of a good master one may injure oneself physically or mentally which may be a permanent damage.

Be careful of deceits who pretend to be Yoga masters. There are so many of them. Some so rich and some very poor ones. Fake ones are plenty.

Now to answer your question :

At the eighth stage of Yoga known as "Samadhi" one reaches "Savikalpa Samadhi". That is the time one is not asleep or dead but loses sense consciousness in strong meditation and takes a plunge into the divine consciousness. To that person only awareness of the Ultimate reality the God is experienced.
How is that experience ?
Full of inexplicable joy, blissful state, happiness beyond comparision, no thoughts can interfere, no sense perception can interrupt this Samadhi stage. Here in the Samadhi state the consciousness of the body ceases, the senses do not think anything else.

But this is not the final stage.

After the Sadhak's Savikalpa Samadhi matures over a prolonged time if he or she does not stop there then the one develops "Paravairagya". With this the one proceeds towards the highest goal "Nirvikalpa Samadhi".

No need to say that not even sense perceptions can interfere in this Samadhi.

The experience of Samadhi, the happiness, the feeling is somethhing one can and had never experienced in this world before. Samadhi experiences are never experienced in the world through any events or perceptions of the physical world.
