My wife had to do that and bought one of those big snow globe things. I thought it was corny but it turned out to be the one gift everyone wanted and kept stealing. It was one of those steal each others gift deals that I hate so much. Anyway the dang snow globe that we bought at Wal Mart for about 10 bucks turned out to be the most hijacked gift of the party! LOL Go Figure right!

first what you'll should have done, was each person in your group give a list of 3 of their gift choice within that price range, that would be so much help. that is the most effective way to do secret Santa, so that no matter what out of the 3 things they name you know that you will get at least 1 of them.
all women love "bath and body works" fragrance/lotions but you may not pick the best scent, to never go wrong also 2007 day planners are popular, candles, no make up, no sunglasses, definitely gift cards are popular that way she can purchase her own lip gloss or sunglasses if she want them

The top best selling fiction from Barnes and Noble. A girl movie such as Steel Magnolias, Cold Mountain, , a nice christmas CD with mellow singers such as Johnny Mathis, Erin Nevil. Get a variety sample basket of lotions from Bath and Body works or a similar store. Scented candles are great, vanilla or caramel scents are usually a winner. Don't give a dam gift certificate, make it seem like you really pondered on it and it is a true gift from the heart.

A nice scarf is reasonably priced. You don't have to know her size. A music CD is another option.
You don't have to spend a lot to find a nice gift.
One year I received a cut glass bowl, which I love, from my Secret Santa. It was inexpensive but very useful. I use it all the time.

i like going for the unusual things. candles and bath stuff are common fall backs and are so for a reason. however, have some fun...buy a cheap stocking (dollar store) and fill it with small toys ex. play doh, a slinky, jacks, bubbles, and then a cute christmas stuffed animal. It will make anyone smile and feel like a kid at christmas!

Get a popcorn tub at the movie theatre, put a bag of microwave poporn in it and a movie rental card or a used DVD movie then wrap the whole thing in cellophane and tie a camera film bow on it
