Sohcahtoa- remember this word

Sin Opposite over Hypotenuse Cosine Adjacent over Hypotenuse Tangent Opposite over Adjacent.

If you remember this you will be able to do your trig! It really helps

This is always fun to remember:
Some Old Hippy Caught Another Hippy Trippin On Acid.
SOHCAHTOA
S=O/H C=A/H T=O/A
If you know the measurement of the hypotenuse (the line across from the right angle) and the measurement of the line across from the mystery line, then do the measurement for sine.

The other two work the same way. "A" in the equations means the line connected to the mystery line (but it can't be the hypotenuse)

All this is very simple if you know the equation and can figure out which number goes where.

Obviously, you can look in your book or on the web to get the definition of sine, etc. The rreal trick is to get one example memorized, and always draw a picture. I use a 3-4-5 triangle. Draw the picture and write the values down and memorize that.

When you have this, you can use it as a reference to help solve oother problems. Try it a few times before the test, so you are familiar with the reasoning.

I always draw the picture, and for algebra, I always use units.
(I know I have the right calculation, if the units work out)
