Russia wasn't Germany's Ally in WWI. The Russians, much to the suprise of most of the world, joined in a treaty with Britain and France in the years before WWI. When the Tsarist regime fell and the Bolshevik revolution took place, the Russians no longer posed a threat to Germany by eliminating the chance of fighting a war on two fronts. This let Germany concentrate on the Maginot line on the west that led to stalemate which devestated an entire generation of europeans.

Germany & Russia were never allies though the signed the Non-Agression Pact (which was merely a convenience for them to partition Poland) & for Germany to secure her Eastern front while concentrating on taking Western Europe

In any event, Hitler had intentions to conquer Russia (as per his Lenbenstraum policy) whilst Hitler is supposedly wanting to expand westwards, spreading communism along the way.

Hitler invaded Russia, which led to the opening of the 2nd front (the first being to the west) & this caused Germany to be sandwiched in the centre.

Germany never had Russia as an ally. It was Germany, Austria, and Italy on one side and France, Great Britain and Russia on the other. Italy was the flip-flopper. Italians betrayed the Germans and Austrians and entered the war on the Allied side by attacking Austria in May 1915.

Germany and Russia were never allies during the first world war. Matter of fact Germany sent Lenin to Russia during the war to take Russia out of the war. During WW II Germany and Russia signed a non-aggression pact and split Poland. Then Hitler sent the Wehrmacht into Russia. This tied up many of his forces, which eventually led to his downfall.

I think you may be getting your world wars confused. Czar Nicholas, referred to lovingly as Cousin Nikki by Kaisar Wilhelm, had opposite interests in the Balkans and began the war on the other side from Austro-Hungary and subsequently Germany. (The British royal family were also cousins.) Russia withdrew from the war after the October Revolution. By the end of 1917 the Germans were happy not to have an Eastern Front to defend and could concentrate on the Western Front, and Austro-Hungary could concentrate on the Balkans and Italy. You might want to see where modern Germany and Russia stand in their relationships with Serbia and Croatia for added historical perspective.

Russia and German were never allies. They began the war as enemies, because Russia was allied with Serbia, while Germany was allied with Austria Hungary. Further, prior to the War, Russia and France were in an alliance designed to contain German.

You may be thinkng of Italy. Italy was originally part of the Central Powers, but declined to enter the war. But in 1915, it enter the war on the side of the Entente.
