why do highschool kids do certain things to fit in?

im not ur agverage teen lol im not weird or anything...its just that i find it stupid to have sex, do drugs, get drunk, or all that other stupid sh*t just to fit in a certain group. i was deff. liek that before back in middle school, but i came to a point of life that i don't care anymore. i dont understand why people care so much about what they do. its hard for me to find a girl that doesn't do all that stupid stuff to fit in, then they'll be looking down on me because i don't do tha stuff they do. it doesn't mean i'm gonna stat but u kno wut i mean. it all comes back to my question: why do highschool kids do certain things to fit in?


and what should i do?

i wish i had does the same things as other people in high school because i then may have friends. like wize if i did what they did i could be in jaill right now so it may have been a good thing for me to not be like them

You should stick to what you are doing. This is the way I see it, when I was in high school my older brother, who already graduated, told me that high school was nothing more than a play pen. When you get out into the real world it is a big playground. Being popular in high school, sex, drinking, that is all high school kids see to life.

Live it up party like there is no tomorrow. There comes a point in your life where you have to make the decision that you are going to be grown up and make the right decisions, and move on with your life. They will soon get the big picture, but many of the decisions they make in life affect the rest of their lives. I am only 21 but I see people all the time who used to popular or whatever working at a grocery store with 3 kids trying to make ends meet.

When you graduate you will soon be going wow, you know that really wasn't what life was all about. It is good that you realize this and start on your life, there is so much more than high school.
Don't let the pressures of high school get to you because I did not. I am happy I abstained from it all. Best of luck to you!!

Exactly, and there are many people like you including myself. It's pointless and the reason why people like me is because they respect that I don't have to do that to be cool and that I am just myself and that's good enough reason for them to hang around you. To answer your question in the simplest possible way, it's because of peer pressure. They feel that they won't be accepted unless they do what people want them to do, because then they know, "oh, they're asking me to do it, so they must think doing it is cool, and if they think doing it is cool, if I do it, I'll be cool." That's why.

The kids that do those things to fit in have a hunger for belonging to someone or something. They do those things to gain acceptance to the "in" crowd. In your case, to strengthen your character, read the bible, pray, take heart to what God has planned for your life. He has a purpose for you, a plan to prosper and of hope.

high school kids are still trying harder than hell to figure out who they are. so, they try to fit in with the people they think are the most appealing. truth is, those kids dont know who they are either. so really all you can do is make good judgements for yourself and dont worry about trying to be like anyone else. you wont know who you really are for years and years

well i go to highschool myself lol , but i dont do does things ither. I dont belive in getting high and parties and all everyone has to have their fun but i dont see the fun in that except ill get in trouble w ith my perants lol anywayz yah back to the question high school kids usually do that cuz they ither think that its cool, or there fallowin their friends footsteps. They see somone do somthing bad they think its alright for them to do it to so they end up duing it.

that would desire to no longer be happening on occasion it incredibly is harassment no count if it incredibly is that ordinary smash up ideal away you do no longer opt for a boyfriend like that I even have been in a situation on the fringe of an analogous element and it replaced into no longer good in any respect

because we are afraid of REJECTION! surely you know how that feels!! i think everybody learns to let it go though. but it don't think this just happens to high schoolers, everybody does stupid things!! adults included!
