I know that i need a baracode software my issue is how do i determine the information on the actual barcode.

Most graphic packages like Corel have barcode utilities as a part of their graphic package. You can use Corel Draw to make a label and add the barcode just as you would any other element.
My Lotus program also has a barcode maker, I used it to attach postal codes at the bottom of mailing labels

With Windows, you'll need a barcode font and barcode making program.
