I'll tell you what NOT to give:
--gift cards
--body soaps/shower gel gift packs
--or any other gift you'd give to someone you hardly know
It is insulting to get these kinds of gifts from your best friend...it's as if they haven't been paying attention throughout your friendship!!! Think about your friend...what are her life circumstances? What does she enjoy doing? What are her dreams? What would she never ever buy for herself? Those are a good starting point to narrow it down to a thoughtful, useful, well-received gift from a true friend :)

I think a personalized gift, something engraved with name or initials and date is a lovely gift to receive and there is such a wide range of gifts such as christmas tree ornaments which are relatively inexpensive or jewelry if you want to spend more.

well it depends on if there a girl or a guy u should have wrote that but ether way if u cant find nothing the best thing is to get a girf card to the re fav place i always love those

If it is a:
boy then maybe something he really wants
girl then maybe some makeup, jewelry...
