Any behavior can be changed, even the desire to have sexual relations with children BUT the person will need spiritual help for that. It can not come from man but from GOD.

Well...I am of the school of thought that one's sexuality and tendencies are pretty hard wired in life and can't be changed easily.

I think pedophilia is a disease just like homosexuality...can they be cured...perhaps. But I think it would take some pretty serious mind-altering drugs under the watchful eye of a neurologist to do the brain re-wiring that would be necessary to do this if it is even possible.

Also I am talking about real pedophiles not those guys on Dateline who want to get it on with a 15yr old because mother nature designed men to be attracted to women of menarchal age and older (but NOT younger).

They really are incurable, although with hard work they can suppress their desires and possibly reprogram themselves. People sometimes like to call other people inflammatory names just to mess up their lives and this is one such name. If you aren't a pedophile and someone calls you this, you may experience alot of trouble. If you are a pedophile, people want to warn others that a lion is near their baby chickadees. Can you blame them?

They really are incurable since it is a sexual preference.
You can't stop being attracted to someone it's ingrained in you. Even if you are celibate you'll eventually come across someone that attracts you. It's the same for pedophiles.

I think that pedophiles can probably can be taught to suppress their feelings, but never to eliminate them. I call this situation "ingrammatic imprinting", although I don't know what psychiatrists or psychologists call it. I believe that once it is established that is permanent. Children need to be protected from pedophiles, I don't think its a label - I think its a sad reality of life.

I think people say this because they don't really want to find out the hard way. Can you blame them?

I suspect they are. Think about whatever it is that attracts you sexually. Do you feel that you can be "cured" of it?
