The last 10 CD's I listened to were:
Modern Times - Bob Dylan
Astral Weeks - Van Morrison
Highway Companion - Tom Petty
Unchained - Johnny Cash
The Rock - Frankie Miller Band
Dust - Screaming Trees
Axis: Bold As Love - Jimi Hendrix Experience
Teaser - Tommy Bolin
Blues Sky - Muddy Waters
Californication - Red Hot Chili Peppers

I also like a bit of newer music, like Audioslave, Wolfmother, Black Keys, but the more I look ahead, the further I go back to the past to the roots of Rock & Roll.....the Blues. Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Albert King and Elmore James. Their songs told great stories and they ******' rocked.

Anything with heart. Green day, fallout boy, and all of the new punk bands are not it they are in it for the dollar sign not the music. try tool perfect circle, megadeth, alice in chains, Rage against the machine.
Jimi hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Muddy Waters >the man invented rock and therefore punk in a way. Robert Johnson, Nirvana, Stone sour, Slipknot, there is all kinds of great music out there without supporting dollar sign music if you like punk try old school Rancid, Operation Ivy, Sex pistols things like that don't just buy the shirts to look cool listen to it and I forgot A great so pink floyd

There is no such thing as "REAL" music. Music is subjective and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I personally like the new heavy Rock/Metal that has come out for the past ten years. I also like to list to classical, pop, clasic rock, hip-hop, southern rap and other types when I am in the mood. My favorite band is probably Tool.
Staind(Dysfunction CD only), American Head Charge, Seether, Mudvayne, RATM, The Bled, Red Hot Chili Peppers

im not a teenager (25 years old) but i love music of all varieties.....here are my current top 10 picks...
10. Led Zeppelin.. overrated as a rock band but check out some of the less rockier songs like Tangerine, the rain song, and boogie with stu
9. The Fugees... a hip/ho/ folk trio probably not comming back as rumors have said but you dont get any better than the political rap of wyclef and the yearning husky vocals of Lauryn Hill
8. Christina Aguilara...she is clearly underrated for her talent and over publicised for her private life, her voice is powerful and she can deliver a funky po/dance song and a softer ballad.
7. Sufjan Stevens...a chilled out troubador if there ever was one, hes prolific and ambitious check out the songs "to be alone with you", "chicago", and "casimir pulaski day"
6. Iron and Wine...the lo-fi stylings of Sam Beam, front porch folk music check out songs like, "upwards over the mountain, soddom south georgia, sea and the rythm, naked as we come, and jesus the mexican boy"
5. Wilco...alt-country band hailing from chicago. check out the whole albulm "being ther"
4. Corrine Baily Rae... beautiful and jazzy
3. Damien Rice...another folk Troubador, his music is wrought with e4motion and feeling, epic and beautiful
2. Paul SImon, his songwriting is ecclectic and great his album "graceland" is very notable possible one of the best albums ever
1. U2, The Beatles, Bob DYlan, and the RolligSTones...these are quite possibly the greatest musicians on earth...the music and songwriting transcends time and still connects with people all over

I'm way past teenage years but I think the best band is the one that reaches you personally. My all time favorite is Korn, my kids' least favorite since I play them all the time. And I mean all the time, my six year old knows most of the lyrics!
