this is a hard question.

technology is so good nowadays that you can choose what baby you want. although it is only allowed in very rare cases.

what happens is that eggs are taken from your ovaries and fertilized with your partners sperm then they look for one that hasnt got the disease in them. then if there one that is healthly they put the embryo back in you in the hop that it will implant.

there are other reasons too i.e if a boy can inheritea disease and a girl will be ok they just look for girl embryos.

i think this is ok. but i am against people who do it just so they can have a girl or boy.

for example i watched a programme on this.

a woman had 4 boys and desperatly wanted a girl so had this done. out of all the eggs fertilized one was a girl so she had this one put back in her and the others left to die. now those boys were healthy why cant they of been used with women who cant have kids.

and why cant she be happy with what she had. there are people out there in desperate need of a baby and she decides to pick and choose.

sorry for the ramble just wanted to tell you about what it involves.

well really it depends on the disease some diseases require both parents to have the gene some don't. i know that pku is a genetic marker in my family because i have a 1st cousin who has it. that disease requires both parents to be a carrier and then they have a 1 in 3 chance of having a child with pku my aunt had 2 children only one had it. knowing that that a genetic marker is in you family helps you when talking to the doctors when my children were born i informed the hospital staff right away that pku is in my family and they put a rush on that test.

In my opinion people who carry the Huntington's gene or other inheritable geneic diseases should not have biological children. If all the people with these inheritable diseased did not have babies the diseased would die out.

They can adopt and that is just as good or better

you can get pregnant no matter what sexual postion you are in. as long as the sperm reaches the egg, you are pregnant.
If 2 parents have a degenerative disease, then there is a possibility that the baby will have it too.
