Realistically, University of Chicago looks for ACTs in the high 20's at least, same with Northwestern and many of the private schools up there. Depending on what major you intend to pursue you might be able to get into University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). What about looking at a couple other of IL's sate schools? Western and Eastern would both probably accept you, as would Illinois State. Or You could attend a Junior or Community college for a year or two first to bring up your GPA. Most universities do not pay much attention to the ACT once you have community college behind you. Good Luck hun, i put a couple of websites below that might help :-)

With a 16, it looks like it's NIU for you. I'd retake the ACT if I were you.

You should consider going to community college for 2 years and then get good grades and try applying to your school of choice after that.

Colleges want to see a score in the 20s at least. I'd try to get that GPA up too. Being homeschooled might help on the uniqueness side though.

You'll probably have to settle, for public schools, for either Chicago State University or Northeastern Illinois, which might be a reach.
UIC is way out of your league, with average ACT of 23 and average High school rank of 75 (they don't give average GPA).
Average ACT is a 20.
You might want to start at a community college, and transfer in.

I think I heard that the average person gets about a 15 on it. For being homeschooled a 2.4 gpa isnt bad because I hear its a lot harder. I got an 18 on my ACT. I think that with a 16 ull have to have some pretty good crudentials.
