I deleted windows xp from my computer, but when I try to reboot with the CD, the windows login opens up, but I cannot use the mouse or keyboard to enter my windows login password. (Neither is functioning) Any suggestions how I can get the keyboard and mouse to work again? I do not have software for either device.

If I read you correctly you delete windows xp, and want to boot the computer. That is not logical - without the operating system it cannot boot. Switch it on, put the Operating System disk in the cd rom, shut down the pc and reboot. Go through the reinstall and select all the defaults. Next time don't delete any folders in the windows/winnt/system32 folders at all.

Good luck

That's because you deleted XP...with that was the keyboard, and mouse drivers...The XP installation disk will have those drivers on it, and put that into your memory if you're trying to reinstall XP....

It sounds like you need to reinstall windows XP on your computer. To do this you have to shut down your computer and then tell it to boot from the cd. and it should reinstall windows on your computer.

Well try to use a usb keyboard to see if your ps2 port are not burned out. Also the next thing you can do is to reinstall windows.

try to system restore but if it doesn't work then it might not be the software but the keyboard or something
