The bye week is to give the players a rest & even out the schedule...
Those big guys deserve a break, don't you think?
They are human after all!

The bye week was put in place so players with light injuries could heal and not miss games.
Never mind the fact that these players need a week off after gruelling weeks of playing.
Remember...the guy at the bottom of the pile at the line of scrimmage, with just three players on top of him, has approximately a half ton of players on him.
OUCH!

Easy. There are 17 weeks on the schedule. It all works out.

Besides, the players like the bye week; it gives them a chance to rest, catch up with their families, and heal up nagging injuries.

All players need rest with the wear and tear they put on their bodies every week. Trust me if they didn't , you woudn't see much success.
