i have to write a poem written in the same style as shel silverstein?

any suggestions on topics i could write about? i just need ideas to get started, thanks a lot for your help and please if your going to write something like do your own hwk, dont bother becuase im just asking for suggestions not for you to write the poem

The two most memorable poems by Shel Silverstein for me are "Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout Would Not Take the Garbage Out" and "I Cannot Go to School Today."

In the first he takes a simple important chore and exaggerates what would happen if you DIDN'T take the garbage out everday - and in the end she meets a terrible fate.

So one suggestion is that you could take some simple yet important task and create a scenario of what would happen if it wasn't done each day.

In the second poem, little Peggy Ann McKay was over exaggerating why she couldn't go to school feigning all sorts of nasty symptoms. Then she realizes it's Saturday, and she's instantly cured.

So the second suggestion would be to have something a character doesn't want to do, make up major exaggerated excuses for why they can't, have something happen where they realize they don't have to do it in the first place, then resolve it in a relaxed non-chalant tone.

Silverstein often writes about the odd-ball, mundane or everyday things that most other poets ignore. That's what makes his poetry such fun. If you're doing something in Silverstein's style, you might choose a topic like a caterpillar, exploring the big green world of a cabbage.

Shel Silverstein generally writes stupid and humorous newborn's poems, and that i haven't been able to looking any incredibly romantic ones by using him... yet there's a stunning poem that rhymes and is style of candy: 'Hug-O-war' by using Shel Silverstein. additionally there is 'positioned yet another log on the hearth' by using him yet that one is likewise style of depressing! wish this facilitates. right here is hug-o-war: i won't play at tug o'war. i might incredibly play at hug o'war, the place all and sundry hugs instead of tugs, the place all and sundry giggles And rolls on the rug, the place all and sundry kisses, and all and sundry grins, and all and sundry cuddles, and all and sundry wins.
