I read it and I've always liked it, I want to name my baby girl that way, I just don't know how to pronounce it. Every time I hear it they pronounce it different. How does it sound better, or just how do you pronounce it?

My name is Andrea, and I like my name. Depending on what mood I am in when I am on the phone at work I pronounce my name differently.

Some people used to pronounce it - nn drea, and missed out the 'a'.
Personally I prefer it to be pronounced An drea with a higher pitch on the dre part. It sounds nicer.

personally i pronounce it "an" "dre" (the e is pronounced like in the word tree" and then "a" (pronounced like apple)
but some people do pronouce the e as "a" (like reciting the alphabet) and then the proper a at the end in the same way as above.

I have know many girls named Andrea - always pronounced ann-dree-uh. I prefer this pronunciation. If you shorten it to Andy (or Ande--like the Andes Mts.) it makes sense (ann-dee).

The pronunciation that sounds like Andre (ahn-dray), or Andrea (ahn-dray-uh) is more of a male pronunciation, I think, and just sounds overdone as a female pronunciation.

Ann-dree-ah is the common English pronunciation of the name.

It is also pronounced Awn-dray-ah (awn like lawn) which is a play on the french masculine name André, pronounced awn-dray.

I usually pronounce it Anne-Dree-Ah. But you're right! I've been corrected many times because there are so many ways you can pronounce it.
