Windows. I have used both and windows user interface is just so much better. Macs are good for graphic design and video editing. But with the new processors, Windows is just as good. I haven't had a problem with viruses, adaware or crashing for over 2 years, since I use internet security programs.

Macs are generally overpriced on their hardware.

This question should never be asked, unless you have never used a computer before. The reason why I say this is not because it is a dumb question or anything. People should buy computers they are comfortable with, not because someone else recommends it.

The question you should ask yourself is, do YOU prefer Windows or a Mac computer? If you are use to Mac, then go ahead and buy a Mac. If Windows are always better than Macs, Apple would not be in business for 30 years.

If you want an objective view, Windows and Mac are both great operating systems. Most gamers will side with Windows because there are more games for Windows than Mac. Most graphic designers and multimedia people will go with Mac because they have better software and run more efficiently. Most business users will go with Windows because the majority of the world uses Windows. If you need to talk to that system or share files, you know the odds are good they have a Windows system.

For most people, a Windows system is a better bet. It's much easier to find software, as well as getting help and support. There's also no real hope of gaming on a Mac yet.

On the other hand, Macs tend to be more stable and have far fewer bugs, viruses, trojans, etc

The best bet right now is probably to get an Intel based Mac and use Bootcamp to dual boot both O/Ss. You'll get the best of both worlds.
