there could be. there are millions of other galaxies out there. and we haven't even gotten to where our galaxy ends yet. Our galaxy is huge. Think about billions of other galaxies, maybe some galaxies larger than ours. I believe there could be other living forms on other planets.

So far we've found the 7 other planets of our solar system, a few dwarf planets in our solar system, and about 107 planets that orbit other stars in other solar systems.

Given that we've only been able to actually search for planets around about 0.00000000000000000001% of the stars just in our own galaxy (and there are several hundred billion more galaxies like ours that we can see)...
I'd say the odds are good that there is intelligent life more advanced than earth's out there somewhere. We may never find it -- just too darn far away. Or we may find it relatively close...the only way to know is to keep looking. And we're doing just that.

There are planets way beyond triple our imagination .

Looking at stars on a clear night somewhere away from the city, one is amazed at how many are visible. The hazy band of the Milky Way stretches across the night sky and contains millions of stars, thousands of light years away, but still part of our own Galaxy. Late astronomer Carl Sagan put the number of stars in the Milky Way Galaxy at 400,000,000,000 (400 billion). There are a little more than six billion people on our planet — so a rough estimate puts it at about 60 stars in the Milky Way per human being on Earth. Imagine that, each one of us could have 60 solar systems in the Milky Way Galaxy.

As mysteries of the Universe unfold, it is important that we realise our place in the larger scheme of things. Just as we talk about being a part of the world, we need to remember that the world is only a part of a much larger Galaxy. And there are billions upon billions upon billions of other galaxies in our universe .

Now if you think THAT is beyond our inteligence out there .. think of how many planets that just might be inside each galaxy !

I answered a similar question a few weeks ago regarding Mars. There's been a number of probes launched now and one of them was destroyed. Before it was destroyed, pictures were sent to Earth showing a long bright horizontal line approaching the probe. Furthermore, Mars has several features like a face that looks like a human face and it may have been carved out by some kind of intelligent being. On top of that, there have been similar elements found on Mars to Earth - like water, carbon dioxide, and so on, that are essential for life. I believe that Mars also has an Iron core and used to have a magnetic field like Earth. My answer is "yes", and it may be closer than we think.

No

Edit: The universe is not infinite... sorry people.

The reason there is not another planet beyond our intelligence...
planets are described by our intelligence...
if our intelligence cant describe whatever it is... then it is definately not a planet.

I sure hope so!

It would be nice to think that all the people who don't want to see all the fighting and violence against children and a million other thing that piss me off about this planet, may have some other place to go.

As far as humans know, no. But the infinant size of the universe means the is almost no chance that there isn't any other intelligent beings in the universe. How intelligent do you mean? Human intelligent or animal intelligent?

Yes...it's along the lines of "if a tree falls in the forest and noone's around...does it make any sound"...to me at least, the answer is yes to that too. Just because we can't see it...doesn't mean it's not there, the solar system is HUGE, there's no way we could have discovered every planet out there! I don't know if we ever could...

If there were, I always wondered if they would bother to interact or just study from a far. I wonder what we wood do if we found a planet with people that are as civil as the barbarians.

I believe there is.
thousands of light years away.
neither them or Earth know about it.
But I believe there is distant life in the universe.
When we get warp technology, we will be able to explore these new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations,
and Boldly Go where no one has gone before.
