i have a dell laptop inspiron 1150 and i just reformatted my computer. now the screen is too dark. it's hard to see. is there a place where i can brighten the screen? what do i do?

Hmm, depends on why it's too dark.
You don't say if you tried the keyboard brightness controls. Most Dells have brightness on the up/down arrow keys while holding down the Fn key.
If this isn't enough, download the utilities package for this laptop from Dell; it will have sw utilities for controlling brightness, volume, wifi, and other model-specific features.

Your laptop should have a brightness control somewhere. In our IBM laptop you hit Function then the corresponding button that increases the brightness.
This is probably a problem with the moniter display, not the reformatting.
