What the poster above me said is absolutely not true. Georgia is really a melting-pot as well. There are some places that have very large hispanic populations (like where my dad grew up in Gainesville), there're also largely African American cities, and some places that are predominately caucasion. I think overall, Georgians are very accepting of people of all sorts. I've lived in Georgia for my entire life and now attend the University of Georgia - THAT's a real melting pot of all sorts of people! As for highschools, I can't really recommend any specific ones because I've been out for a while and most of the teachers I had have either moved schools or retired. I would try to stick with one of the smaller schools, though. I think people get lost in the big highschools like those in Gwinnett County.

As for Christmas in Georgia, you can never predict the weather! It's snowed here on Christmas before, but this year I'm wearing short sleeves without being too cold. Some people go all out with the decorations and there're two places in Northern Georgia that do festival of lights type things. One is Magical Nights of Lights in Buford Georgia and the other is Stone Mountain Park's Christmas Villege near Atlanta. And of course - traffic is crazy and so are the shoppers! LOL :-)

Lemme tell you...the south is NO melting pot!!! It's mostly white people with thick southern accents. Now I am not trying to "bag" on the south or sountherners, I have lived in Southern California all of my life, minus the short time I spent living in Arkansas. I really missed the "rainbow" of people I was used to seeing. The first time I walked into a gorcery store in my zebra print slippers, I was stared at like I was a crazy woman!!! The pace of life is a lot slower and the traffic is great, but the only thing outside of the home to do was go to the Super Wal-Mart because it was the only thing open after dusk LOL!!!
