My manufacturer is Hewlett Packard.
I try to access to my default gateway, which I can access to by typing http://192.168.1.1 into my firefox, but it asks me for my username and password and I don't know what it is.

Some people say it's always admin for both, or blank for username and admin for the password. But either way, I type it and it keeps saying "401 Authorization Required". Which means I got it wrong. Someone help me with this please? Thank you

Defauly gateway is your router. Default username / pwd depends on the manufacturer of your router. Since you have not posted that information, I'd suggest try following combinations. One of them should work.

Username: admin / Password: admin
Username: admin / Password: blank
Username: admin / Password: password

ok what you want to do is find the reset button. don't just press it and release. hold it down for at least 10 seconds or even 30 seconds. this should do a hard reset on your router back to factory default. then the password and name is as it came from the factory.
user name: admin / password: admin
user name: admin / password: password
user name: admin / password:

It depends upon your router, not your computer. Give us the make and model of your router and maybe we can help. The make of your 'puter is meaningless.

Many Linksys routers use "admin" for the user name and no password.
