A close friend of mine is the oldest of 5 kids. She's 25, and I'm 27 and met in college a number of years ago. I'm really considering asking her to marry me, but how do I get her parents alone with all her younger siblings in the house? I want to be able to ask her parents if I could marry their daughter, her oldest brother already suspects. Should I ask her parents to come to a nice restaurant, or somewhere else?

Ask them to meet you either in a restaurant (be ready to pay) or invite them to your home for drinks and appetizers. If it's Summer, you could even arrange a picnic in a park or something like that.
Good luck

Tell them you have something to disguss with them and invite them out for lunch or a quick cup of coffee as k them to come alone and not to bring there daughter because what you are asking involves her and you want to keep it a secret. Just explain
to them that you would like to have discussion that involves the future of you and there daughter if her parents are not a couple of dummies they will eventually realize you may be asking for there daughters hand in marriage. Just to let you know traditionally the
man would get the blessing and the go ahead from the father and then he would let the mother no of your intentions if he is okay with it then it should be fine so it may be easier to invite pops out for a beer at the local pub and have your conversation. Heres a future congratulations if all goes well and God Bless & Good Luck. Remember Marriage is a big step but well worth it if you
are ready to be faithful and loving to this one lucky lady for the rest of your life.

That is so sweet, good luck to you. You should ask her parents if you could speak with them in private and ask them to meet you at a restaurant or for coffee. Don't scare them though. Let them know it is nothing bad and not to tell their daughter. They might suspect but if your relationship is good that is okay. Best of luck to you and update us on her answer when you do ask....Happy holidays.

You can tell them there is something that you need to discuss with them in private . You can suggest that you meet at a restaurant but that may raise interest with the others . You could even slip them a note that you need to meet with them in private and let them decide when and where .

Do it formally! Maybe send an invitation to have them and her to a nice restraurant. Make this time a romantic time, so her parents can see how much she means to you and that you are a respectful man that will take care of their daughter. Best of Luck!

Just call them and say that you have something important to talk to them about in private and set up something at their house or over a meal at your local restaurant.

Just wait till after dinner and ask them if you could talk in private, then ask; or ask in front of whole family... Ask parents for permission, then ask siblings if they will have you for a brother-in-law!
