Thanks to everyone on the last one. We got through about five more problems after that.

4^x = 16√2
by taking log for the both side
log 4^x = log16*√2
x log4 = log16 + 1/2 log2
x = ( log16 + 1/2log2) / log4
x = 2.25

4^x=16 * sqrt(2) take ln's of both sides
x ln 4=ln 16+.5 ln 2
2x ln 2=4 ln 2 +.5 ln 2 divide by ln 2
2x=4.5
x=2.25

4^x = 16 * sqrt(2)
log 4^x = log (16 * sqrt(2)) .......... (at base 4)
x*log 4 = log 16 + log 2^1/2
x = log 4² + log (4^1/2)^1/2
x = 2*log 4 + log 4^1/4
x = 2 + (1/4)log 4
x = 2 + 1/4

x = 2.25
