I want to purchase a home in florida but I am separated from my husband. Will he still need to sign the deed since we are not divorced

He would have to signt he deed but I would make sure he has no rights to the house since you are not legally divorced_

Are you legal separated. Have papers been filed with the courts. If so then I do not believe he would have the rights to the home in Florida, but I am not a divorce lawyer so I would really advise you to speak to a lawyer to make sure before hand. Good luck.

Since divorce laws in each state differ I suggest you check the seperation and divorce laws in Florida since you are looking to purchase there. My advice otherwise would be not to make ANY large purchases until that final decree of divorce is in your hands.

You will be better off waiting to sign the papers until you are actually divorced. It is better to be safe than sorry.
