Do you think that the group was ANTI -RELIGIOUS or ANTI-AMERICAN.

The Beatles are British not American which does not make them anti-american. Anti-religious John Lennon once said they were more popular then Jesus but he was joking; this does not make them anti-religious.

the beatles loved america because we bought shiteloads of their albums and NYC and san fran were way out there and hip at that time. think ravi shankar and Jerry Garcia. as we see today (unfortunately) there is a large demographic still at large in the US who will blindly follow what anyone tells them if it is attached to some fundamental belief that they hold. John Lennon was woefully misquoted and misunderstood by his Jesus comment. what he was trying to say was it was nuts that The Beatles were more popular than Jesus in the culture at that time. guess what he was right. and I am a Christian who believes in Jesus, but I am a realist. our pop icons surely are more popular to us than Jesus, again unfortunately. if you spend enough time really HEARING the words and inflections in their lyrics you will find a decidedly spiritual message percolating underneath.

ROTFLMAO!!!

Okay, give me a moment ...

The Beatles were at least 50 years ahead of their time. Their music had little to do with religion or American'ism.

Where in the name of John Lennon did you come up with this stuff?

IMHO,

The Ol' Sasquatch Ü

I think they were neither. They came along during a decade when there were tons of changes going on. They tried to make music that reflected the changes. They were also influenced by people like Brian Wilson.

I would say NO to both parts of that question, although John wrote IMAGINE (my favorite song ever), which says "nothing to kill or die for, and no religion, too". And to that idea I say... If only... If all religion were eradicated from this earth and everybody were Lennon-like, we'd live in a much more beautiful, peaceful world.

No. What you heard was a bunch of religious zealots with nothing else to do.

No, I don't think so, how silly. They promoted peace, so I doubt they would be either if those, because that would start a riot.
