I have been labeled as a "goth chick" and an "emo", even though these two terms can never be accurately defined and a definition can never be agreed upon. I've also heard the dumbass insinuations that all goths are either satanist, wiccan, or pagan. I personally don't think it has anything to do with religious beliefs.
Let me describe myself so that you can tell me what group I fall under. My favorite colors are black, red, and white...so naturally, thats all I have in my wardrobe. I like corsets and leather, but I'm not the extremely kinky type. I prefer hardcore rock, heavy metal, and a lot of dark sounding spiritual music. I have a history of depression. I am an Agnostic and I enjoy reading about other religions. Soon, I will start reading the Satanic bible because I've been told that Anton Lavey was (aside from being psychotic) a very brilliant man. I know people love to put labels on other people, so I'm giving you all the chance now. What group do I fall under?

I do not like labels.....I prefer marching to my own drum and it pisses me off that I still get labeled. I'm honestly, just curious....Judging by all that I've said, what is my ultimate "label"?

You're you.

Ten years ago I did all of that. Was looked at as a freak (frankly I enjoyed that) Had blue hair on week then flaming red the next (my hair is still trying to recover from that) I got tattoos and piercing. Everyone told me it was a phase. Hell no, this is me. Boy was I wrong. Today I have two girls (who love the colour pink and Barbies) live in a "historic home" and a member of P.T.A. (WHAT? When did I grow up) I'm a mom (and I don't wear those ugly themed sweaters or turtlenecks) I still have friends who are still rather freaky (when they are not working) and look at me as if I am some huge freak / sell out.

As long as you feel comfortable with who you are, then who cares. You are you.

Do you really want to be put under a label?

You're an individual, who cares what others say or think? A word about the Satanic Bible, and a few other books you might be interested in... Anton LaVey (the Black Pope as some refer to him) was not brilliant, he plagiarised much of Ragnar Redbeard's work. He simply took ideas from a few other sources and mixed them to make his own school of thought and had it published.

Other books you may be interested in...
*Ragnar Redbeard- Might is Right - The Survival of the Fittest
*Friedrich Nietzsche- Thus Spoke Zarathustra (and Human, All too Human)
*Aleister Crowley- Book of the Law

I'd say you'd fall under the group of Abby C! Being an individual is more important than being part of a specific social group. Just because you have a similar taste in clothing to the Goth kids doesn't mean you're Goth, and just because you like reading about other religions (such at Satanism) doesn't make you Satanic.

have a great day :-)

my dear
you are
LIVING
you have the courage to try new things and enjoy yourself
most people fade into life and try to put you down so they can be cozy in their sameness
who cares what others think about you
what counts if what you think of yourself!!!!!!!!!!
